Among the other banking scrips, UTI Bank moved ahead 4.47% at Rs 355.50, Allahabad Bank jumped ahead 2.33% at Rs 79.20, whereas ICICI Bank moved down 0.35% and Rs 590.00 and SBI moved up 0.78% at Rs 973.00.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- . 2:45 pm : NTPC moved up 0.86% at Rs 134.25 after the company informed BSE that the 500 MW unit IV at Rihand Super Thermal Power (STP) Project will commence commercial operation from April 01, 2006.
With the commercial operation of this unit, the total installed and commercial capacity of Rihand Super Thermal Power Project would be 2000 MW.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- . 2:15 pm : Videocon Industries moved up 0.96% at Rs 422.00 aftre a consortium comprising of the company, GAIL, BPCL, HPCL and Oilex of Australia has been awarded Block 56 in Oman for exploration and further development.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- . 2:00 pm : Bata India moved up 1.23% at Rs 238.05 after the company informed BSE that the Board of Director of the company at its meeting held on March 30, 2006, inter alia, in view of the losses, did not recommend any dividend for the financial year ended December 31, 2005.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- . 1:45 pm : Godrej Consumer surged 5.93% at Rs 720.00 after it scheduled a board meet on 26 April 2006 to consider a proposal of stock-split.
Among the other FMCG scrips, Mcdowell moved up 5.36% at Rs 783.00 and Dabur India moved up 1.59% at Rs 124.50.

Among the other auto scrips, Bajaj Auto moved ahead 2.39% at Rs 2,760.00 and Maruti Udyog moved up 1.91% at Rs 871.50.

Among the other gainers of the day, Tata Motors moved ahead 2.03% at Rs 926.25, Cipla surged ahead 2.98% at Rs 656.00.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- . 12:30 pm : Jet Airways moved ahead 4.48% at Rs 978.00 on reports that the company will be able to take over the aircraft, routes, parking bays, landing slots and hangars now vested with Air Sahara.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- . 12:15 pm : Sun Pharma moved down 1.20% at Rs 878.40 after the company allotted 216,007 equity shares of Rs 5 each of the company at a premium of Rs 724.30 per share upon exercise of option of conversion for 3500 Zero Coupon Foreign Currency Convertible Bonds of $1000 each (FCCB) into equity shares of the company by certain FCCB Holders.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- . 12:00 pm : Gail surged 1.88% at Rs 322.00 after the company announced that a consortium consisting of the company, Oilex Australia, Videocon, HPCL and BPCL has been awarded Block No. 56 in Oman for exploration and production of hydrocarbons.
The company, Oilex and Videocon have 25% share participating interest each in the consortium. Oilex Australia are the operators.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- . 11:45 am : BEML moved ahead 5.28% at Rs 1720.00 after the company announced that the it has achieved a sales turnover of Rs 22016.50 million for the financial year ended March 31, 2006 thus registering a growth of 18.62 percent over the previous year.
The company was able to significantly penetrate into new export markets with revenues of Rs 630 million.

Among the other FMCG scrips, Dabur India moved up 1.71% at Rs 124.65, HLL moved down 1.92% at Rs 268.00 and ITc moved down 0.43% at Rs 198.00.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- . 11:15 am : Tata Steel moved ahead 1.10% at Rs 528.00, Hindustan Zinc moved up 3.50% at Rs 519.00.
Among the other metal scrips, Nalco jumped ahead 3.04% at Rs 301.80, Sesa Goa surged 2.29% at Rs 1,280.20 and Hindalco moved up 0.57% at Rs 184.40.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- . 11:00 am : Nahar Exports surged ahead 7.55% at Rs 84.00 after the company announced a consolidation of the textile business under Nahar Spinning Mills.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- . 10:45 am : Torrent Power moved ahead 2.06% at Rs 220.00 after the company announced the filing of 4 ANDAs and 3 DMFs as part of its launch plan for US markets. 3 ANDAs have been filed for Metformin Instant Release, Sertraline and Zolpidem, while the fourth was filed for Citalopram in the third week of March 2006.
Among the other power scrips, Tata Power surged 1.12% at Rs 580.00 and Reliance Energy moved up 1.21% at Rs 620.00.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- . 10:30 am : IT major Wipro moved down 0.85% at Rs 559.00 after the company announced to issue and allot 8400 equity shares of Rs 2 each pursuant to exercise of the stock options by the eligible employees under the Wipro Employee Stock Options Plans.
Among the other IT scrips, Infosys moved down 0.20% at Rs 3,029.00, TCS moved down 1.94% at Rs 1,930.00 and Satyam Computers moved ahead 0.46% at Rs 849.50.

The BSE Sensex opened 18.92 points up at 11,325.96 while the NSE Nifty opened 1.6 points up at 3,420.55.
